Active Directory

The error:

The File Replication Service is having trouble enabling replication from DC-01 to DC-02 for c:\windows\sysvol\domain
using the DNS name DC-01.d-PIT.local

The Distributed File System Replication (DFSR) database may fail on a DFSR Replication member.

Never save state or pause an Active Directory Domain Controller.

You should always shut down virtual Domain Controllers properly to avoid replication errors. Pausing a Domain Controller for a long period of time before resuming it can interfere with timely replication. If you do pause the domain controller for a long time, replication may stop and cause lingering objects.

 Functional levels are an extension of the mixed/native mode concept introduced in Windows 2000 to activate new Active Directory features after all the domain controllers in the domain or forest are running the Windows Server 2003 operating system.
