IBM/Lotus Domino Administration

Information relating to installing and maintaining IBM/Lotus Notes/Domino R6/R7/R8 and R9.

Here's a tip on how to delete dead mail in mail.box without script code.

How can you determine the Lotus Domino server install type, so that you know whether the installation type supports running a Domino cluster?

Problem

Because of operating system limitations, there is no automated procedure to rename a Lotus® Domino® database. If a Domino server task touches a database, it creates a file lock, and subsequently cannot rename it due to an access violation on the OS. Therefore, it is a manual process to rename a Notes database on the Domino Server.

All that said, what are the proper procedures for renaming a Domino mail database?

In addition to the two tips that were discussed in Part 1 of this note, there are some more tips that we recommend to help increase the performance of the Domino Web Access Client on your server(s).
