Upgrading Lotus Traveler to R8.5.3.3

More recently, we have been performing upgrades of various versions of Lotus Traveler to Release 8.5.3.3 (or R8.5.3.3)
The IBM documentation is relatively "unclear" as to what versions you can directly upgrade these to, so here is a table that outlines versions the upgrade path that is required in order to successfully upgrade from R8.5.3.0 (base version) to R8.5.3.3.
Creating directory links

Directory links are text files that appear as directory icons in the Domino data directory.
In the Domino Administrator, and in the Open Database dialog box in the Notes client, directory links appear to the user as a directory folder icon.

Lotus Traveler 8.5.3 – Approving Devices for Access

Lotus Traveler 8.5.3 plugs a big hole in device security.
Prior to Lotus Traveler 8.5.3, when you granted a user access to traveler, that person could add as many devices as they wanted. With 8.5.3, you now have the ability to force approval by administrators before data will sync. This is set in the LotusTraveler.nsf database.
