Lotus Traveler 8.5.3 plugs a big hole in device security.

Prior to Lotus Traveler 8.5.3, when you granted a user access to traveler, that person could add as many devices as they wanted.  With 8.5.3, you now have the ability to force approval by administrators before data will sync.  This is set in the LotusTraveler.nsf database.

In order to require that all devices are approved, set the threshold to 0.

This means that every device will require approval by the administrator.

After installing the profile/application, the administrator will receive an approval email.

By clicking on the link provided, the option to Approve/Deny is made available to the administrator.

From the LotusTraveler.nsf database, the administrators can then Approve or Deny access for this device for the user.
